It is well recognized that sand is the best thing to have in your nest bowl. The sand retains heat and helps keep the eggs cleaner. My good friend Bob Kolvington has used sand for years and would use nothing else. One bag will do one nest bowl. You may run it through a sleave and reuse it should you desire. Block any nest bowl drain holes with duct tape. Each bag weighs a hefty 2.2 lbs.
