Hooples have been used for over 100 years and brought back by Foy's after multiple request from our customers. We offer the Hoople in two handle lengths, 24" and 48". They both are 18" in diameter. What is a Hoople? It is used to train birds to enter the trap on return from a fly or race. With a hoople in each hand, and your arms extended, you appear to be much larger, and this intimidates the bird, and as you walk up to the bird, who is standing on the landing perch, it does not think it can fly over or around you, so it is forced to walk to and into the trap. Every second lost as the bird stands on the landing perch, is a second lost and perhaps a race lost, so it is very important to get the bird into the trap or over the antenna of your timer.
