#29 Doxyvet Liquid
For the treatment of susceptible infectinos in birds, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, cats and other small animals. This is a broad spectrum antibiotic. Active ingredients: 50 mg/ml doxycycline hydrochloride.
Birds: 1 ml (20 drops) per 100 ml of drinking water.
Rodents: 0.15 ml (3 drops) per 100 ml of drinking water. Treat for 7 days and keep out of direct sunlight.
Cats: fi rst day 2 drops per kg (2.21 lbs.) body weight (2.5 mg/kg) orally for 7-10 days after doxyvet treatment give probiotic to stimulate normal gut fl ora. For paratyphoid, treat for at least 21 days. Remove grit when treatning.

A conversa- tion with a well known vet and pigeon expert suggest that treatment of choice for paratyphoid is Doxycycline 20% for a minimum of 21 days but in severe cases of paratyphoid as long as 45 days. Effective treatment of Ornithosis, mycloplasmosis and respiratory infections. Treatment is one teaspoon per gallon for 7-10 days. Remove grit during treatment. Follow with 2-3 days of pro-biotics. |
